What do the document checkboxes do?

Priv (Privileged)

Description: Designates document as privileged.
Results: Converts to pdf, adds Bates number in “privileged” Bates range, and places pdf in “Privileged” folder and adds document’s metadata to “Draft Privilege Log”.

Prod (Produced)

Description: Designates document as produced
Results: Converts to pdf, adds Bates number in “produced” Bates range, and places pdf in “produced” folder and adds document’s metadata to “Production Log”.

Key

Description: Designates document as a “key,” or important document
Results: Places extra copy of document into “Key” folder, and adds metadata to “Key Log.”
Notes: Does not change “privileged” or “produced” designation, but is generally used only with “produced” documents.

Stamp (Custom Stamp)

Description: Puts custom stamp on document
Results: Adds custom stamp (default is “Confidential”) to pdf.
Notes: You can customize the stamp either when you create the job or when you check out and finish your job for delivery.

Irrel (Irrelevant)

Description: Designates document as irrelevant
Results: Adds metadata to “Irrelevant Log,” but does not return a pdf
Notes: Every documents must be privileged, produced or irrelevant, and can only be put in one of these categories.

Redact

Description: Marks document for redaction
Results: Converts to pdf, adds Bates number in “produced” Bates range, and places into “Redacted” subfolder within “Produced” folder.
Notes: Checkbox is activated only when “produced” box is checked. User redacts the pdf after delivery of Discovery Genie output, and then moves redacted pdf out of “Redacted” subfolder into main “Produced” folder.
