Export an mbox From Gmail

  1. Go to https://takeout.google.com/settings/takeout.
  2. Click “Deselect all.”
  3. Scroll down to “Mail”, and check the checkbox.
    1. Click “All mail data included”
    2. Uncheck “Include all messages in Mail”
    3. Click “Select all” and then “Deselect all”
    4. Choose “Production” to create an archive of your “Production” folder.
    5. Click “OK”
  4. Scroll down and click “Next Step.”
  5. Scroll down and click “Create Export.”
  6. Gmail will create a zip file and send you a notification email when it is ready. When you receive the email, click the link and follow the directions to download the zip file. (For your security, Google will require you to confirm your password.)
  7. When you have downloaded your zip file, decompress the file and extract the contents into a new folder.
  8. Inside the decompressed folder will be a folder called “Mail.” Inside the “Mail” folder you will find a file called “Production.mbox.” Drag and drop the “Production.mbox” file onto the Discovery Genie target.
