Create a pst From Outlook

FOR OUTLOOK 2013 OR 2016:

  1. Click the File tab.
  2. Choose Open & Export > Import/Export.
  3. Click Export to a file.
  4. Click Outlook Data File (pst), and then click Next.
  5. Uncheck the include subfolders box.This is very important! Select the folder to export—your “Production” Folder—and then click Next.
  6. Click Browse, and navigate to your Desktop. This is where your pst file will be placed.
  7. In the File Name box, type “Production” (i.e., the name that you want to use for the new pst file), and then click OK.
  8. Do not set a password!!! Click Finish. This will create a file called “Production.pst” on your Desktop.

FOR OUTLOOK 2010:

  1. Click the File tab.
  2. In the Outlook Options window, click Advanced.
  3. Click Export.
  4. In the Import and Export Wizard, click Export to a file, and then click Next.
  5. Click Outlook Data File (pst), and then click Next.
  6. Select the folder to export—your “Production” Folder—and then click Next.
  7. Click Browse, and navigate to your Desktop. This is where your pst file will be placed.
  8. In the File Name box, type “Production” (i.e., the name that you want to use for the new pst file), and then click OK.
  9. Do not set a password!!! Click Finish. This will create a file called “Production.pst” on your Desktop.

FOR EARLIER VERSIONS OF OUTLOOK:

  1. On the File menu, click Import And Export. If the menu item is not available, move your pointer over the chevrons at the bottom of the menu, and then click Import and Export.
  2. Click Export To File, and then click Next.
  3. Click Personal Folder File (pst), and then click Next.
  4. Select the folder to export—your “Production” Folder—and then click Next.
  5. Click Browse, and navigate to your Desktop. This is where your pst file will be placed.
  6. In the File Name box, type “Production” (i.e., the name that you want to use for the new pst file), and then click OK.
  7. Do not set a password!!! Click Finish. This will create a file called “Production.pst” on your Desktop.
